Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has committed to provide a very conducive business environment for both existing and prospective investors, stating that the State Government is prepared to attract more investments to the state through its business-friendly policies and initiatives. Governor Mbah, represented by his deputy Ifeanyi Ossai, hailed trade fairs as a definite way to build the economy and reduce poverty rates by bringing together manufacturers and small business owners to promote their goods and services.
Speaking on the fair’s theme, “Promoting Made-in-Nigeria Products for Global Competitiveness,” the governor urged the Federal Government to renovate the Enugu International Trade Fair Conference Permanent Site so that it can compete with its Lagos and Kaduna counterparts. He claimed that Enugu State has abundant agricultural and mineral resources and is a leader in the crusade for Made-in-Nigeria goods because the state’s potential spans several industries, including energy, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials, laying the groundwork for profound economic diversification and industrial advancement.

Responding on behalf of the Federal Government, Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, stated that the government is deeply concerned about the influx of substandard products into the country and is doing everything in its power to support local manufacturing of goods in order to make the industrial sector competitive, create jobs, and wealth for the nation.
Earlier, Odeiga Jideonwo of the Enugu State Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ECCIMA) stated that the gate-pass to the fair is free of charge for everyone for the entire 10-day event in order to attract more industrialists, investors, buyers, and sellers to interact, exchange business ideas, and share experiences for investment promotion and overall economic growth.
