EEDC – “Current poor power supply in South East beyond our powers”

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, or EEDC, claims it is powerless to address the current inadequate power supply that the South-East is experiencing.

The corporation blamed the problem on poor energy generation, which has led to a widespread decline in the availability of power supplies.

Newsmen in Enugu were informed of this on Monday by Emeka Ezeh, the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC.

Nonetheless, Mr. Ezeh urged the zone’s citizens to be patient with the business.

He claims that the low generation that has arisen from the development has affected the daily megawatt hour, or MWH, of energy allotted to distribution companies across the country, which in turn has affected the quality of service that these companies provide to their clients.

“We understand the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding as it is beyond us.

“We can only distribute what is allocated to us,” he said.

The several parties involved in the power industry are working to resolve this problem, according to Mr. Ezeh, and “we hope this yields positive result so that normal distribution will return.”

He declared that EEDC was still dedicated to provide its valued clients better services.
