CP Augustina Ogbodo, the Commissioner of Police for the Ebonyi State Command, has directed the deployment of personnel throughout the state to ensure the safety of lives and property. To this purpose, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical/Operational Unit Commanders, as well as operational and intelligence personnel, have been ordered to be on red alert to ensure appropriate security in their respective areas of responsibility. This was stated in a press release issued by the command’s Public Relations officer, PPRO, DSP Joshua Ukandu, in Abakiliki on Tuesday.
According to the statement, officers and men of the command join the Muslim Ummah in celebrating this year’s Eid-el-Fitri, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan. She urged the state’s Muslim faithful to commemorate the celebrations responsibly, to be compassionate towards their neighbours, and to adopt the principles and sacrifices of the just concluded Ramadan into their daily life.
She also advised citizens of the state to continue to follow the law and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
