The Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed gratitude for the defection of a handful of its members to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, noting that the defectors are no longer valuable to the party and so defected to another. The party praised the development as a good riddance to rotten garbage, and admitted that the defectors were no longer valuable to the party in any capacity.
Anthony Agbazuere, chief of staff to Abia State’s immediate past Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; Eze Chikamnayo, former Commissioner of Information; and Uzo Azubuike, a former member of the House of Representatives, are among the former Abia State Government top officials and PDP stalwarts who joined the APC in the state on Monday. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha, Minister of State for Labour, welcomed the PDP defectors at her country home in Isuochi, Umunneochi, Abia State, and expressed her delight at their decision to join forces with the APC, calling their presence a welcome development.
The minister, who was once a member of the PDP before joining the APC, expressed optimism that their collaboration with the APC will boost the party’s fortunes in the state. She promised them the same opportunities and treatment as previous members of the party.
