Commission For South-East Development: Ohanaeze Youth Praise NASS, Seek Tinubu’s Approval

After years of agitation, the House of Representatives finally enacted the much-anticipated law in December 2023.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was the bill’s sponsor.

Recall that the bill was previously approved by the 8th Senate but that former President Muhammadu Buhari did not sign it.

The national president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, said in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday that the bill’s passage was a dream come true for Ndigbo.

We have always voiced our unwavering support for Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Okwu said, hailing the Senate leadership led by Senator Godswill Akpabio for clearing the bill without rushing.
