Buhari’s Economic Team Member, Soludo, Says Tinubu Inherited Bad Economy From Ex-president

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, who was a member of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic team, has claimed that incumbent Bola Tinubu inherited a weak economy from the previous government.

The remark was made by the governor of Anambra state during a Sunday interview with Channels Television.

He said Nigeria’s biting economic situation is an “inevitable” phase for the betterment of the nation.

In response to the present financial difficulties, Soludo stated that they are a necessary stage before the nation starts to prosper.

The former Central Bank governor said, “You see, sometimes, I kind of feel we don’t get it.

“But whether there will be pains for any step you take or the other, it is going to be. It is inevitable. But that is obviously what we need to pass through.

”We must realise that things were really bad. We must get it clear that there is no easy way to get this patient who has multiple problems [to become better].”
