Breaking: WASSCE Set to Commence April 30th

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has officially announced the commencement of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates. Scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the examination will run until June 24, 2024.

 

Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of Nigeria Office at WAEC, made the announcement during a press briefing held at the WAEC Lagos Office on Monday. He reassured the public of the council’s preparedness to administer the examination, emphasizing that it will span seven weeks and six days.

 

In his statement, Dangut highlighted, “I am delighted to inform you that WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024 will take place between Tuesday, April 30 and Monday, June 24, 2024, in Nigeria, spanning seven weeks and six days. The examination will be conducted in four WAEC member countries, namely: Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra-Leone, and Liberia.”

Furthermore, he expressed the council’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and credible examination process, stating, “We want to intimate candidates of the council’s readiness to conduct WASSCE.”

 

Dangut also extended gratitude to various stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Education, State Ministries of Education, Nigeria Police, other security agencies, and the general public, for their continuous support and cooperation in delivering credible examinations for Nigerian students.

 

As WAEC gears up for the WASSCE, candidates and stakeholders are urged to stay updated on further announcements and guidelines for the examination.
