BREAKING: Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Passes Away at 52

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, has passed away at the age of 52. The prominent businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil reportedly died in a London hotel on Saturday.

Ubah, who would have celebrated his 53rd birthday on September 3, was a notable figure in Nigerian politics and business. His death was confirmed by Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu, who stated, “It’s confirmed, but I am sending an official statement soon.”

Known for his dynamic career, Ubah was re-elected to the 10th Senate under the Young Peoples Party before defecting to the All Progressive Congress last year. His political journey was marked by significant events, including a narrow escape from an assassination attempt in September 2022. During the attack, gunmen targeted his convoy on the way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including two policemen. Ubah survived the attack thanks to his bulletproof vehicle.
