Security operatives, in a coordinated effort have successfully rescued a kidnapped victim from a criminal den in Umuduru, Ihiala, Anambra State.
On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, a joint task force comprised of police officers, military personnel, and members of the Anambra Vigilante Group launched a daring raid on a notorious hideout known for harboring criminals. The operation, which was meticulously planned and executed, led to the safe rescue of the victim.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the breakthrough in this case came after the arrest of a key suspect, whose name has been withheld for security reasons. Under intense interrogation, the suspect divulged critical information about the kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing the region.
“The successful rescue was the result of precise intelligence gathered during the interrogation of a recently arrested suspect,” SP Ikenga stated. “The victim has since been reunited with their family, and ongoing operations aim to dismantle the remaining elements of this criminal gang.”
