The latest update from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) brings sad news as they confirm the passing of Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, widely known as Junior Pope. Following the tragic capsizing of a boat in Anam River, Anambra State, during a film shoot, Junior Pope, along with three others, lost their lives.
Emeka Rollas, National President of AGN, shared on Facebook that despite initial hopes sparked by signs of life, Junior Pope couldn’t be revived, despite efforts from two prominent hospitals.
Rollas expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him, but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him. Mr. Friday’s corpse has been identified, but three other corpses are yet to be found.”
As the industry mourns this heartbreaking loss, the search continues for the missing individuals. AGN, along with sympathizers and authorities, remains committed to finding closure for all affected by this tragedy.
