Access Bank Plc introduced an offline banking platform, 901.ng, on Friday, aiming to revolutionize banking accessibility and foster financial inclusion across Nigeria.
The move comes amidst a significant rise in financial inclusion, reaching 74 per cent in 2023, up from 68 per cent in 2020. With the Central Bank of Nigeria targeting a further increase to 95 per cent by 2024, initiatives like 901.ng play a crucial role in bridging the gap.
Developed in collaboration with RemitPlus, a pioneer in offline banking solutions, 901.ng was unveiled at a launch event in Lagos. Access Bank highlighted the platform’s ability to redefine convenience and security in banking, ensuring seamless access to financial services even without internet connectivity.
Victor Etuokwu, Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank, emphasized the significance of addressing the challenges faced by individuals lacking reliable internet access. He stated, “Access Bank has developed this solution to empower our customers to bank securely, anytime, anywhere, irrespective of internet availability.”
