Enugu Government Trains Youths On digital Skills For Job Creation, Poverty Eradication

 

The Enugu State government has started youth empowerment programs in various skills like digital and technical know-how as part of the efforts to empower youngsters in the state to compete nationally and globally, as well as to create jobs and eradicate poverty in the state.

 

During his visit to the Enugu SME AltSchool Training Programme center, which is one of the state’s training hubs established by the Enugu SME Center in collaboration with AltSchool Africa and Copen Academy to train Enugu youths in Full Stack Software Development, the state governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, stated that the trainings were a part of his annual goals to upskill 40,000 youths.

 

He thought back to his inaugural speech in 2023, in which he emphasized the need of giving young people the tools they need to be productive and globally competitive.

 

In an effort to enable young people in the state to compete on a national and international level, as well as to create jobs and end poverty in the region, the government of Enugu State has launched youth empowerment programs in a variety of skills, including digital and technical know-how.

The state governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, said that the trainings were a part of his annual visit to the Enugu SME AltSchool Training Programme center, one of the state’s training hubs established by the Enugu SME Center in partnership with AltSchool Africa and Copen Academy to train Enugu youths in Full Stack Software Development.

 

The governor, speaking to the students, advised them to maximize their training time for both individual and societal progress and to justify the time invested in it.

 

He exhorted the IT students to treat the training seriously, highlighting how it may enhance their lives and benefit society.

 

He also praised the program’s organizers, Arinze Chilo Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and MSMEs, and their partners, AltSchool Africa, for their dedication to educating and empowering the hundreds of young people involved.
