One Person Killed as Gunmen Attack Hotel belonging To Council Chairman In Ebonyi

DSP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesman in Ebonyi, stated on Monday that one person was killed by suspected gunmen at an Abakaliki hotel on Sunday.

The hotel is said to be the home and property of Hon. Ikechukwu Odono, the chairman of the council, and is situated in the Ishielu community in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi.

“Several vehicles were set ablaze in the hotel by the gunmen during the attack,’’ Ukandu, said.

He called on the public to help by giving the police important information that could lead to the offenders’ capture.

Unidentified gunmen also fatally shot a Point-of-Sale machine operator in the local government region last week.

The attack on Sunday happened two days after gunmen on Nwofe Road in Abakaliki killed two civilians and four police officers.
