Kidnap Victims Regain Freedom As Abductors Flee In Anambra

On Friday, four male abduction victims were rescued from their captors’ cave in Anambra. The robbers had left after the police broke into their hiding place.

On Monday, ASP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra police spokesman, said in Awka that the victims had been reunited with their relatives.

He said that during the operation in Awgu in the state’s Orumba North Local Government Area, a local vigilante group worked alongside the police.

Ikenga added that during a follow-up operation on Saturday, one AK-47 rifle left behind by the kidnappers was found by police and vigilance group members combing through the nearby bushes.

Two magazines containing fifty rounds of ammo were also found.

He said that Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, the Anambra Commissioner of Police, had praised the combined team’s diligence and pledged to award it for its dedication to public safety.
