Nigerian Combined Military Troops neutralize 20 IPOB Members, Destroy Hideouts In South East

Twenty members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who are prohibited by law, have been successfully neutralized by personnel from a variety of security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Armed Forces, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. This occurred in the Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

This coordinated action, which happened on March 7, also led to the demolishment of fifty camps that the Biafra agitators had occupied.

The IPOB’s Supreme Headquarters, Command and Control Center, and Military Council Headquarters were among the camps that were attacked and demolished.

This is the third operation in the state overall and the second that has been carried out in the same Local Government Area since the month’s beginning.

Before this, on March 5, IPOB fighters and members of the Nigerian Army and Navy engaged in gunfire at Ejemekuru, Oguta Local Government Area, Imo State. As a result, five fighters were eliminated.

Furthermore, on March 2, forces and an IPOB militant engaged in a violent gunfight that ended with the fighters being neutralized. Three improvised explosive devices, a Toyota Highlander SUV, a Hilux car, and eight rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition were found from the fighters’ hiding places during this battle. Because the fighters’ hideouts were well hidden by vegetation, air surveillance had a tough time finding them.

By eliminating IPOB combatants and demolishing their camps, the security forces in Imo State have proven their dedication to preserving the state’s peace and security.

These actions send a clear message to the public that acts of violence and insurrection will not be accepted and that security forces will keep up their relentless efforts to protect the public.

It is important to remember, though, that the soldiers encountered several difficulties while carrying out these actions. To make it harder for the soldiers to move about, the rebels built trenches and put a lot of improvised explosive devices along the route that led to their camps.
