Gov. Otti Denies Suing Federal Government

Dr. Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has refuted rumors that the state filed a lawsuit at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against President Bola Tinubu and the federal government.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kazie Uko, Otti claimed that it was untrue that the state government had taken President Tinubu and the federal government to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for turning down the governor of Abia’s proposal to build both an international airport and a seaport.

According to the statement, which was partially translated, “The Governor of Abia State has filed a fake lawsuit against the Nigerian government and President Bola Tinubu at the International Criminal Court (ICC), which has been making the rounds on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter).”

“The fake news claims that Governor Otti sued the Federal Republic of Nigeria and President Tinubu for allegedly refusing to grant the request of the Governor of the state to establish a seaport as well as an international airport in Abia.

“Another part of the badly stringed and concocted report alleges that Governor Otti had also placed a ban on businesses operated by Nigerians of Northern extraction resident in Abia State, until the approval for the establishment of the said seaport and international airport is granted.
